Employee Relations Manager

ER guides Nike Inc. through complicated workforce issues by delivering impartial insight and expertise, using a consumer-focused approach that enables great decisions• Provide problem resolution/support to HR business facing partners, business leaders and stakeholders in a manner that is aligned with ER (Centre of Excellence) brand, NIKE’s policies, practices and processes and that reflects Nike values and Maxims
• Conduct fact-findings (assessments)of escalated policy concerns timely following established ER processes and protocols
• When complex workplace issues arise, steward ER policies and processes by providing subject matter expertise to employees, managers, HR and/or other stakeholders through a consultative methodology
• Partner with appropriate stakeholders at intersections of responsibility (e.g., Security, Loss Prevention, Legal, Corporate Audit, etc.) and conduct regular Touchbases with key stakeholders within HR and the business
• Assist HR business partner in redundancy situations and the consultation process, where necessary
• Timely and accurately input appropriate ER issues into the ER Case Management system
• Analyse data from ER department trend reporting to identify trends, conduct root cause analysis, and develop plans for proactive, positive impact in partnership with ER leadership
• Lead the investigation (assessment) of formal complaints by employees and report any recommendations & conclusions back to the business
• Drive manager capability of ER issues through regular proactive territory-wide training in partnership with HR business leads as well as reactive bespoke training targeted to store needs
• Provide employment law updates quarterly to HRBP & HRMs to highlight any impact on ER policies or processes
• Understand/incorporate ER “Brand” – be an ambassador for the ER Function

QualificationsExperience needed:
· 5-10 years of specialist Employee Relations or employment law experience, Retail experience preferable.
· Strong stakeholder management skills with a balance of strategic and tactical experience.
· Ability to deal with multiple caseloads at one time
· Proven ability to manage a range of ER issues from start to finish as an expert in up to date policies and processes.
