An International Sporting Federation based in Switzerland is looking for a Head of Athlete Programmes, reporting directly into the Director of Sports and will manage all the athlete programmes and events for the federation and affiliated partners. This will also include developing new athlete focussed initiatives, online educational resources and related international projects.
Key responsibilities include:
– Frequently liaising with the various Commissions and external stakeholders
– Organisation of events – developing new ideas and logistics
– Work closely with all departments to ensure successful internal collaboration
– Coordinate activities within the Sports Department
– Establish and manage the yearly plans and budgets for the section
– Support the Sports Director in his function and substitute the Sports Director when needed
– Project managing international projects
Experience of working with athletes and managing athlete related programmes, building strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders and developing new projects are all essential. As this is a collaborative environment you must have great communication skills and be able to interact with people of all levels and different cultures. Having been a former elite athlete is an advantage along with a knowledge of other languages particularly French. Due to the international nature of this role you must be prepared to travel most of the year.
