International Business Development Manager
Working closely with the CEO and the Business Unit Directors, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and securing contracts for the various business divisions.
With a high level of independence and ownership, the key responsibilities will be:
- Define the strategy for new business development across existing markets and new markets
- Set the business development strategy for specific product groups
- Develop the strategy for new market entry (partnerships, distribution channels, marketing etc)
- Identify key customer segments and pipeline
- Develop relationships with (c-level) customers and partners
- Compile and present business plan and results to executive management
About you
As this role has unlimited potential and quite a broad scope, it is important that the person has a high level of business acumen and experience, in order to work both at a strategic level as well as be hands-on with customers. While a degree in engineering is preferable, essential is proven experience in developing business within a mechanical/engineering sector and an ability to understand technical products. You will also have:
- Proven track record in successful business development within international markets
- Strong experience in entering new markets
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in selling a technical product/service (business automation, electrical motors and drives an advantage)
- Excellent customer presentation skills for presenting to senior managers and pitch compelling propositions
- Fluent English language is essential and a secondary language is an advantage (Russian, Spanish, German). Czech language also preferred but not essential
- Willingness to travel internationally, up to 60% of time. (Option to also be based in Germany, Austria)
- University degree (technical or mechanical engineering), is an advantage.
- An ability to plan and manage at both a strategic and operational level
- A natural ability to self-motivate and work independently
- A desire to work collaboratively with the local teams, develop new ideas together and engage the team for successful delivery
