TOC Qualified – Portugal Country Tax Manager / Londres, Reino Unido


This is very rare opportunity for a TOC qualified Tax Accounts specialist to secure a position within a FTSE 100 business based in London.

Core Responsibilities:
* Responsible for all the Monthly/Quarterly/Annual deliveries in terms of Corporate Tax, Direct and Indirect Taxes and Transfer Pricing;
* Responsible for producing the Statutory Accounts according with the Local GAAP;
* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
Work closely with the outsource provider to ensure activities carried out correctly and assist in * resolving queries or issues with the local market (LOC);
* Work and build good relationships with local market Finance Directors, in country shared services, outsourcing providers, auditors, tax consultants and external authorities where relevant;
* Prepare outside auditor schedules to support annual audit and special audit requirements;
* Prepare or assist in preparation of financial information to support business unit needs/external reporting requirements;
* Produce routine reports, schedules, and summaries for internal & external customers;
* Responsibility to implement Projects within the Tax Team and the local market.

Basic qualifications:
* Certified Public Accountant in Portugal (“TOC – Tecnico Oficial de Contas”) – Mandatory;
* Finance/Tax Degree level or equivalent – being a Qualified/Part Qualified (CTA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA) would be considered as an advantage;
* An understanding of the wider principles of Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, Direct and Indirect Taxes, with specific knowledge of the Portuguese Tax System;
* Excellent business and financial acumen with experience in Financial Analysis and Financial Reporting, preparation of Statutory Accounts, implementation of new accounting standards and experienced in differences between IFRS, UK GAAP and US GAAP;
* Preferred Professional background: Big 4 firm, Shared Services Centre Environment (specially in Knowledge Transfer Projects)
* Financial modelling skills/high level of competence using Excel and SAP;
* Numeracy, accuracy, attention to detail and displays initiative in solving problems
Disciplined, excellent organisation, empathy & resilience towards shared service centre set ups, with capacity of working under pressure and working with tight deadlines;
* Capable of leading change projects and continuous process improvement initiatives;
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team and show initiative;
* Ability to communicate at all levels and manage multiple stakeholders;
* Ability to work with dispersed teams and multicultural and multifunctional teams;
* Fluency in another Language, besides Portuguese and English, would be an advantage;
* Willingness to travel during start up initially up to 100% for a period of time (approx 10 weeks).
